Vermont Painting Contractor, Richard C. Gillespie, has owned and operated CALDWELL PAINTER, a full-service painting business, for over thirty years. We started in San Francisco and in 2000, moved our operation to Southern VT. Whether it is interior or exterior, new, remodel/renovation construction or repainting, we know all the processes to produce professional finishes on all surfaces. It is our knowledge of materials, attention to details and skills in preparing any surface for any finish that make our finishes last long and look great!

We specialize in SPRAY SHOP SERVICES, using lacquer, acrylic lacquer, varnish, conversion varnish, alkyd and latex enamels, clear alkyd, and acrylic urethanes, on any surface.  We apply the material with HVLP or airless spray equipment depending on the specifications of the project.  We repair, restore furniture and their finishes (we do not work on valuable/collector antiques.)

Other specialized services include Faux Finishes, Decorative Painting, and Distressed Finishes on kitchen cabinets and furniture which coincide with our spray shop services. Why install new kitchen cabinets when for a third of the cost, one can refinish the existing cabinets and install new hardware  to produce a new kitchen?

We serve all of Southern Vermont (Dorset, Manchester, Rutland, Bennington, Stratton areas) and N. Western Mass. Will provide services in other locations for projects that require our special expertise. Insured and will be happy to provide free estimates and individual references.
